Emily Kuo Vong

 

Emily Kuo Vong born in Shanghai, China, developed her passion and education for music from a very early age. Since 1981 she has immigrated from Shanghai to Macau, then to Portugal, later to the United States and now resides back in Portugal.

 

Over the years, she attained great success both as an artist and as an entrepreneur. Some of her achievements include Founder and current President of the Four Seasons Investment Group and the Four Seasons Cultural Development Group, L’Etoile International, Ltd., GET Global Elec-Tech Group,

 

On a more cultural note she established, in 2007, the US-based Chinese American Intercultural Exchange Foundation (CAIEF), with the mission to promote and facilitate cultural exchange between the two nations.

 

In 2011 she established the Asia Pacific Youth Choir, which over the past five years has cultivated the talents of many young professional choral conductors and musicians throughout the Asia Pacific region. All these contributions to culture and, in particular, choral music led her to, in 2012, being elected as a major board member of the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM), and in 2014 she elected to continue to serve as Vice President of the IFCM.

 

Emily has also taken a humanitarian approach to her activity an from 2014 through 2017, for three years she sponsored the IFCM’s special project, Conductors Without Borders, in Africa. In 2017, due to all her amazing contributions, she was elected President of the IFCM and she started by developing cultural and choral projects in multiple Chinese cities in 2018, which were a great success. In 2019 she has taken on the challenge of bringing the World Choral Expo, the largest choral event, to Lisbon, Portugal. Lisbon was also the chosen city for the headquarters of IFCM, inside the beautiful Palacete dos Condes de Monte Real which she bought and completely renovated in 2018.
